“The overall goal of coaching
is increased effectiveness in ministry. Coaching focuses on future
possibilities by gaining new insights and understandings and sometimes
by embracing new priorities and procedures. The Coach’s
role is to ask questions that raise awareness, prompt deeper reflection
and clarify issues. At times the Coach may don his teacher’s
hat and suggest resources and options. The one being coached
sets both the overall goal and the specific agenda for each session.”
