Clergy Coaches is a personal coaching resource developed by Fairview Health Services and Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota (LSS) in collaboration with Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) Synods in and near the Twin Cities.  The goal of Clergy Coaches is to provide a personalized, professional leadership resource for pastors committed to becoming highly effective pastoral leaders.  

In 2000 Clergy Coaches contracted with Dr. Allan Nohre, then president of Corporate Coach U, to assist in developing this coaching resource.  Twenty-one skilled, experienced pastors agreed to serve as Coaches.  These pastors participated in an education/training program for Coaches as well as received their own personal coaching.   

Clergy Coaches has grown over the years in the depth and breadth of its partnerships, the experience and skill of its Coaches, the refinement of the structure that brings pastors and Coaches together, and its ability to assess the value of its coaching services.  An Advisory Board meets quarterly to provide support, guidance and ongoing evaluation of the program.  Pastors who have chosen to work with a Coach consistently report that the experience is highly valuable to their pastoral leadership.  (See “Clergy Comments”)
